MM 21 Project - Ribbon Rings by Cathy Victor

The clever use of value is what makes this pieced quilt, Ribbon Rings by Cathy Victor of Me and My Mum Quilting so spectacular. The use of simple solids in a variety of shades gives depth and movement to each ring.

There's no tricky curved piecing but the illusion of it is definitely there. Even better, this pattern, which features in Make Modern Issue 21, is 2 1/2" strip friendly, so you can grab a solid strip pack and go to town. Cathy used the Dusty Pallette Roll Up and Elizabeth Hartman Paintbox Solids Roll Up, both by Kona Cottons for Robert Kaufman for her quilts.
